• Manitoba Ombudsman celebrates Right to Know Week 2011 – Sep 26, 2011
  For the sixth year, the Manitoba Ombudsman's office has joined with other information and privacy commissioner offices from across the country to celebrate Right to Know Day on September 28 and Right to Know Week from September 26 to September 30, 2011.
  
• Manitoba Ombudsman releases 2010 Annual Report – Jun 2, 2011
  Manitoba Ombudsman releases 2010 Annual Report under The Ombudsman Act, The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, The Personal Health Information Act and The Public Interest Disclosure (Whistleblower Protection) Act.
  
• Manitoba Ombudsman releases her Report on the Protection for Persons in Care Office – Mar 11, 2011
  Manitoba Ombudsman Irene Hamilton released a report on the Protection for Persons in Care Office of Manitoba Health. The report contains 5 recommendations. Manitoba Health accepted all 5 recommendations. Its formal response is included at the end of the report.
  
• Ombudsman releases FIPPA Timeliness Audit Report – Mar 4, 2011
  Manitoba's Ombudsman has released an audit report to Manitobans about the performance of Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) in meeting the time requirements to respond to applications for access under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
  
• FIPPA investigation reports about access to records relating to the upcoming inquest into the death of Brian Sinclair – Feb 11, 2011
  Manitoba Ombudsman Irene Hamilton today publicly released her investigation reports under The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) about the access decisions made by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the City of Winnipeg (Winnipeg Police Service), public bodies under FIPPA.
  
• Report on Manitoba's Employment and Income Assistance Program: Updated with Departmental Responses to Recommendations – Jan 21, 2011
  Manitoba Ombudsman Irene Hamilton released an updated report on the Employment and Income Assistance Program of Family Services and Consumer Affairs that includes the department's responses to the 68 recommendations made in her initial report released in May 2010.
  
• Ombudsman releases fact sheet, "10 Changes to FIPPA" – Jan 4, 2011
  With the proclamation of amendments to The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) on January 1, 2011, Manitoba Ombudsman Irene Hamilton has released a fact sheet highlighting some of the changes, "10 Changes to FIPPA".
  
• Ombudsman releases fact sheet, "10 Points to Know about eChart Manitoba" – Dec 6, 2010
  With the first phase of eChart Manitoba going live this week, Manitoba Ombudsman Irene Hamilton has released a fact sheet highlighting personal privacy protections in this newest part of the province's electronic health record (EHR) system.

  For the fifth year, the Manitoba Ombudsman's office has joined with other information and privacy commissioner offices from across the country to celebrate Right to Know Day on September 28 and Right to Know Week from September 27 to October 1, 2010.
  
• Canada's Access and Privacy Commissioners call for open government – Sep 1, 2010
  Governments at all levels in Canada should embrace open government principles to enhance transparency and accountability. In a joint resolution issued today, federal and all provincial and territorial Access to Information and Privacy Commissioners are endorsing and promoting these principles while calling on their respective governments to demonstrate their commitment to a culture of openness.
